Quality Assurance Manager

Continuous improvement of plant floor quality systems; training and standardization of quality policies and procedures; food safety compliance; quality analytical testing; and communication.  Lead the Quality and Food Safety Team’s development using plant principles.  Develop training.  Administer GMP.  Analyze customer complaints.  Administer HACCP system.  Manage micro-biological, environment, and finish product verification programs.  Administer Quality & Food safety programs.  Coordinate execution and follow-up of regulatory internal and external audits (FDA, USDA, State, AIB, Corporate, etc). Minimum education requirement – Food Science or similar degree, with 5 years’ experience in food related field, preferred.   Plant Quality experience preferred. Experience in quality and regulatory may be substituted for education when supported by formalized training.  Supervisory experience required.

Position: Quality Assurance/Food Safety Lead
Description: The Quality & Food Safety Lead is a working lead technician.  The Lead is able to perform the same tests and reports as the Quality Technicians, and can fill in for a Quality Technician when necessary.  The primary role of the Lead is day to day monitoring of the quality and Food Safety Technician’s work; the data generated during testing, assuring samples are pulled and shipped as required by C.J. Foods, Inc. procedure and customer requirements, test results are received and logged, and action taken when necessary.  The Lead works with the Quality Manager in investigations, reporting, and auditing.  Position is available days (6am-6pm).

Position: Quality Assurance Tech
Description: The Level I QA Technician position is intended to be a “starting” point, from which the technician is expected to advance to capability on both sides of the process before the two year “target”.   The Level I Technician should be capable of the required sampling and testing on either the processing or packaging side of the process with some assistance from the other QA technicians or Leads.  The Level I Technician should have a good working knowledge of Food Safety and Quality policies.   Positions available days (6am-6pm).

Position: Ingredient Meat Tech
Description:

Responsible for the meat room set-up and operation.  Responsible for operating the meat grinding system up to and including the metal detector, block breaker, emulsifier and mixer.  Transfer 40 lb. blocks to a conveyor at waist height.  Understand written instruction and basic math to calculate ingredient ratios based on production run.  Safely operate forklift.  Responsible for timely product changeover and equipment set-up.  Help maintain a safe and clean work environment.  Participate in full facility and equipment clean-up between product runs, as directed.  Operate shag truck.

Position: Packaging Operator
Description: Direct all activities including set-up and operations on assigned packaging line.  Supervise those assigned to the packaging team.  Capable of performing all duties outlined for Packaging Line Technicians.  Package product in bags, boxes, or bulk containers; label, and stack on pallets.  Maintain product and packaging quality through visually inspecting finished product. Ensures product, bas, wraps, seals, boxes, and pallets meet highest quality standards.  Immediately report all quality issues to the Production Supervisor.  Participates in full facility and equipment clean-up between product runs, as directed.  Responsible for machine set ups.  Assist with QA data collection and calibrations.  Ensure required paperwork is accurate and complete.  Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.  Positions available days (6am-6pm) and nights (6pm-6am).

Position:  Maintenance Technician
Description: Supports the manufacturing facilities in all areas of the manufacturing process. Maintains the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, safety, quality, and sanitation. Form, fabricates and assembles components for experimental projects, and repairs and modifies existing machines/equipment/ facilities to ensure reliable, consistent operation according to directions, specifications and approval of supervision.

Position: Food Safety Tech
Description:    Perform sanitation tasks from the Master Sanitation Checklist. These tasks include cleaning inside equipment and at heights, and require use of chemicals, tools and equipment requiring specific and specialized training.   Perform daily cleaning tasks as assigned by sanitation crew supervisor.  Keep the plant in a condition that maintains a standard approved by the American Institute of Baking (AIB) and all other regulatory inspectors by performing the following duties.  This position’s work schedule every week will include assigned days during the week and a plant down-day (weekend day) mandatory working as a complete Food Safety crew.

**All positions at C.J. Foods, Inc. require employees to work in areas where they may be exposed to temperatures ranging from 50 to 100 degrees, depending on the season and workstation. In addition to climbing up and down vertical ladders, step ladders, and stairs to package and clean, constant walking and standing may also be required for the entire shift length. All production employees must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
