Sr. Cost Accountant

Sr. Cost Accountant Position specifically responsible for maintenance of standard cost system, manufacturing accounting and analysis, variance reporting, and accurate bill of materials (BOM)/assemblies in a completely integrated MRP environment. Monitor, record, and analyze margins, cost of sales, and inventory activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting of related financial information. Maintain accurate cost accounting system. Audit responsibility for proper setup of new product SKUS and ingredients into accounting inventory system. Primary responsibility for setting up test run and newly commissioned SKUS on the accounting and inventory systems. Daily manufacturing responsibilities including processing closed work orders and sending out daily operation report to operations. Analyze and report on all ingredient costs, quantity adjustments & manufacturing variances by SKU, customer and profit center. Audit inventory and inventory processes in all locations. Financial Analysis: Assist in the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to determine operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. Monitor, record, and analyze margins, cost of sales, and inventory trends to ensure timely and accurate reporting of related financial information and make recommendations for strategic direction at the plant and corporate level. Analyze plant cost and pricing structures and make recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.  Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly. Qualification Requirements: Minimum of three to five years prior accounting or cost accounting experience; preference will be given to those with applicable experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting background. Previous experience with computerized ERP (JDE) system preferred. Advanced, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytic problem solving and math skills required; display a good understanding of probability and statistics. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality and accuracy. Must be able to present numerical data effectively and be able to read and interpret written complex financial information. Excellent Written and Oral Communication skills required. Demonstrated planning/organizing skills required. Ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.

Warehouse Manager

Plan, direct, and coordinate the storage or distribution operations at the warehouse. Manage our most valued commodity, our warehouse employees. Candidates must have warehouse management experience; managing logistics, coordination, organizing locations for various products, and leading work performance by holding employees accountable. Strong management, organizational, leadership skills needed to drive performance and to maintain a controlled and organized warehouse environment. Coach, mentor, train, motivate, and manage the work with great employees. Manage daily employee activities such as timekeeping, PTO, overtime, and employee attendance. Requires: High school diploma and/or GED. Three to five years warehouse management experience. Supervisory experience required, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Pet food or food manufacturing experience preferred. Facility operates 24/7 with two shift structures: days 6a-6p; nights 6p-6a. Ability to work with hourly staff in a professional and caring manner is a must. This position requires the candidate to work in a fast paced environment, have a sense of urgency, and the ability to multi-task. Candidate must also display a high level of energy.

QA Manager

Drives continuous improvement of plant quality systems; training and standardization of quality policies and procedures; food safety compliance; oversight of analytical testing; and communication with internal & external customers. Lead the Quality and Food Safety Team’s development using plant principles. Develop training programs for Quality and Food Safety team members; lead training and conduct train-the-trainer sessions on quality/food safety processes. Administer internal GMP, quality standards and systems audits, and recommend changes to close gaps. Analyze consumer complaints; identify / validate legitimacy; design resolution plan. Administer HACCP system (7 HACCP Principles), and HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk Based Preventative Controls), and be the Preventative Controls Qualified Individual for the plant, following C. J. Foods, Inc. corporate guidelines. Coordinate execution and follow-up of regulatory internal and external audits (i.e. FDA, USDA, State, Corporate, SQF, etc.). SQF Practitioner for site.  Requires: Food Science or similar degree required; with five years experience in food related field preferred. Plant Quality experience preferred. Experience in quality and regulatory may be substituted for education when supported by formalized training. Required to have SQF practitioner and HACCP certifications, FSPCA Preventative Controls for Animal Food certification or must attain within twelve months of hire date. Supervisory experience required. Excellent communication skills.

Production Shift Supervisor

Manage and schedule daily plant production, packaging and shipping in an efficient manner providing high quality products to our customers. Ensure all equipment is maintained to ensure operating efficiency. Develop and maintain training plans and guides for team members.  Provide effective leadership to maximize production while maintaining a high degree of employee satisfaction. Manage daily, employee activities such as timekeeping, PTO, overtime, and employee attendance.  Requires: High school diploma and/or GED.  Supervisory experience required, preferably in a manufacturing setting.  Day shift (6am to 6pm); Night shift (6pm-6am).

Business Analyst

This IT position is responsible for supporting the day to day manufacturing and business operations. Position outcomes are; analyzing and evaluating existing or proposed systems, producing requirements documents for various business development activities, training and supporting users, deploying new systems and enhancements.  Responsibilities of the job include ensuring data integrity, participating in data quality control, and system/process validation.  A cornerstone of this position includes working with business system users on how to efficiently utilize technology in supporting the business.  Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.  An AA degree in Management Information Systems /Accounting; equivalent work experience may be substituted. Three years experience in a manufacturing environment using business systems ERP software. (Oracle JD Edwards is preferred). Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate technical data to employees outside of the IT department. Knowledge and application of computer programming techniques and principles of system analysis. Knowledge of programming tools, database tools, and analysis software.

HR Generalist

Serve as an HR generalist, recruiting and payroll professional, both in a lead and in a supportive role.  Perform a variety of HR functions, including (but not limited to) Sourcing, Selection, Orientation, Assimilation, Training and Development, Performance Management, Regulatory and Policy Compliance, Reporting and Tracking, and Payroll. Maintain and update all components of C.J. Foods’ people systems. Serve as an ambassador for CJF in the recruiting process for hourly positions.  Utilize various venues for recruitment, such as seeking out and attending job fairs, through social media, local newspapers, on-line job boards, specialty societies and groups, working with local community colleges and other educational institutions, and the like. Use creativity in the area of recruitment to find new and fresh ways to tap into the workforce. Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing. Provide assistance to all HR team members in the areas such as research for HRIS systems, job description updates, tracking of documents, safety initiatives, and other HR-related duties. Requires: Bachelor’s degree; or a combination of education and experience may be substituted. Certification (PHR, SPHR) preferred; if not already certified, the incumbent should be working toward obtaining credentials. Two years of HR generalist experience and general knowledge of HR principles and practices. Personal characteristics include the ability to carry a professional demeanor in managing sensitive and confidential information. Manufacturing Accounting Specialist

Will have primary responsibility for inventory and operational costing and reporting.  Perform cost accounting duties, such as checking work orders for accuracy, reviewing open work order listings to ensure closing timely, sending daily operating reports to operations group, new item setups, and working in ERP system keeping inventory listing current.  Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm). Normal amount of overtime or extended work hours may be required. Requires: Two years prior accounting or business-related experience required.  An associate’s degree required.  A college degree in business or accounting preferred.  May substitute accounting experience for education.

Maintenance Technician

Supports the manufacturing facilities in all areas of the manufacturing process. Maintains the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, safety, quality, and sanitation. Form, fabricates and assembles components for experimental projects, and repairs and modifies existing machines/equipment/ facilities to ensure reliable, consistent operation according to directions, specifications and approval of supervision. Shift: Positions available day shift (6am to 6pm) and night shift (6pm to 6am).  Requires:  High school diploma/GED.  One year experience in manufacturing environment preferred.  Technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to problem solve.

Quality Assurance Tech

A Level I QA Technician position is intended to be a “starting” point, from which the technician is expected to advance to capability on both sides of the process before the two year “target”.   The Level I Technician should be capable of the required sampling and testing on either the processing or packaging side of the process with some assistance from the other QA technicians or Leads.  The Level I Technician should have a good working knowledge of Food Safety and Quality policies. A Level II QA Technician understands and is capable of the required sampling and testing on both the extrusion and packaging side of the process with minimal assistance from the other QA Technician or the QA Lead. A Level III QA Technician understands and is proficient at all the various sampling and testing to the level of being a trainer for employees new to the job on both the extrusion and packaging side. The Level III Technician also assists with maintaining the laboratory equipment, verifying and documenting calibrations. QA Technician levels of II and up are also expected to not only know but also promote Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures to other departments on the plant floor.

Food Safety Tech

Perform sanitation tasks from the Master Sanitation Checklist.  Tasks include cleaning inside equipment and at heights, and require use of chemicals, tools, and equipment requiring specific and specialized training.  Perform daily cleaning tasks as assigned by Food Safety Lead.  Keep the plan in a condition that maintains a standard approved by CJ Foods and manufacturing practices.  Inspect for, recognize, report, and correct conditions or presence of stored product pests, i.e. insects, rodents, and birds.  Safely operate forklift, skid loader, bucket lift, and scissor lift to accomplish sanitation tasks.  Shift:  Position available days (6am-6pm).  Requires:  High school diploma/GED.  Food Safety, sanitation and/or housekeeping experience preferred. Basic math skills. Willing to work in a team environment.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Ability to multi-task.

Extruder Operator

Ensure quality products are produced through the proper operation of extrusion and related equipment.  Set-up equipment and produce products using run sheets and written formulas. Direct and extrusion process and set-up skills as necessary. Assemble, calibrate, operate and monitor extruder and all auxiliary equipment. Inspect and evaluate equipment hourly; adjust equipment variables to meet equipment and product requirements. Frequently dumps/weighs, carries, and stacks up to 50 pound bags of ingredients and product. Operate forklift and hand held scanners to remove ingredients from inventory for use in production. Calculate rates and performance percentages from product runs. Responsible for all product quality attributes. Shift: Positions available on day shift (6am to 6pm). Requires: High school diploma/GED.  Previous manufacturing experience desired.  Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, and percentages. Ability to multi-task.  Ability to read and follow simple written instructions.

Warehouse Techs

Ticket and store finished goods in warehouse.  Track production to accurately fulfill customer orders.  Scan all materials used during shift.  Safely operate forklift accurately and efficiently.  Receive finished product form manufacturing lines and ticket by entering into computerized inventory system.  Responsible for inspecting finished product for stack quality, count and lot code accuracy.  Operate Stretch Wrapper, Palletizer, and other warehouse equipment.  Responsible for becoming familiar with product ticketing and customer requirements for palletization.  Know where to get the information and how to interpret it.  Able to issue raw ingredients to manufacturing and packaging.  Communicate with Packaging Operators on pallet counts to ensure orders are filled correctly.  Maintain assigned equipment.  Participate in full facility and equipment clean up between product runs, as directed.  Shift: Positions available on day (6am to 6pm) and night (6pm to 6am) shift.  Requires:  High School Diploma and/or GED.  Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.  Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.  Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.  Basic math skills including addition and subtraction.  Ability to multi task.

Loader

Load finished goods for transportation to clients’ specifications.  Unload inbound materials.  Track products and raw ingredients using computerized inventory system.  Safely operate a forklift with accuracy and efficiency.  Inspect finished product for stack quality, count accuracy lot code accuracy, and defects before loading.  Load trucks with finished product according to customer requirements and document the process.  Make pick lists and Bill of Ladings.  Conduct cycle counts.  Move trailers and yard truck as necessary.  Able to use computerized inventory system and hand held scanners to run location, stock status, periodic inventory, and shipment summary reports, and create pick lists.  Assist Receiving and Inventory personnel.  Maintain assigned equipment and cleanliness of all areas. Shift: Position is days (Monday–Friday) with some weekend hours possible based on the needs of the business.  Requires:  High school diploma and/or GED.  Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.  Basic computer skills.  Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.  Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.  Basic math skills to include addition and subtraction.  Ability to multi-task.  Ability to read and follow simple written instructions.

Packaging Operators

Direct all activities including set-up and operations on assigned packaging line.  Supervise those assigned to the packaging team. Capable of performing all duties outlined for Packaging Line Technicians.  Package product in bags, boxes, or bulk containers; label, and stack on pallets.  Maintain product and packaging quality through visually inspecting finished product. Ensures product, bags, wraps, seals, boxes, and pallets meet highest quality standards.  Immediately report all quality issues to the Production Supervisor.  Participates in full facility and equipment clean-up between product runs, as directed.  Responsible for machine set ups.  Assist with QA data collection and calibrations.  Ensure required paperwork is accurate and complete.  Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.  Shift: Positions available days (6am – 6pm) and nights (6pm - 6am).  Requires:  High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a manufacturing environment desired.  Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and percentages.  Ability to multi-task.

**All positions at C.J. Foods, Inc. require employees to work in areas where they may be exposed to temperatures ranging from 50 to 100 degrees, depending on the season and workstation. In addition to climbing up and down vertical ladders, step ladders, and stairs to package and clean, constant walking and standing may also be required for the entire shift length. All production employees must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
