Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineers possess technical skills in the CJF manufacturing process. This Mfg Engineer will be given a project to improve a process to make it more efficient or to work with Sales to quote a new process or diet.  Work with the Department Manager to develop a strategy to complete the project. This strategy may include dealing with customers on a new process to create the desired results. This strategy may include quoting new plant layout or modifications to machines. Additionally, this strategy may include developing specifications for the process and training machine operators.  It is a requirement that the Mfg. Engineer keep exceptional records of each project, including test run summaries, protocols, and training documentation. The project will be complete when the specified goal is met and the Department Manager and respective Plant Manager and other required departments are satisfied with the results.180-day apprentice type training is considered to be the introductory period. Requires: Education: Equivalent to trade school or college degree. Technical certification preferred. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Operations Manager

Direct multi-site manufacturing operations through a team of plant managers and supervisors.  Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.  Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability of the operation.  Ultimately responsible for 150+ employees (multi-shifts). Requires: Education: BA / BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline.  Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis after two year technical degree. 10+ years experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Financial Controller

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing and administering the Company’s general accounting functions, including accounts payable,  financial reporting, general ledger, external audits, GAAP compliance, fixed assets, and covenant reporting. Exercise general administrative direction and control over the corporate accounting function to maintain and improve the company’s financial soundness; control cash flow and expenditures; and provide accurate accounting information and financial control data. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting.  MBA preferred. Experience: Ten years’ experience in progressively responsible finance areas.  Five year’s prior work experience in a manufacturing work environment, including supervisory experience, accounting, budget, and finance.  Prior experience with JDE/Oracle ERP system, or similar manufacturing business process system required. Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, inventory, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.  Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities. Business Analyst

This IT position is responsible for supporting the day to day manufacturing and business operations. Position outcomes are; analyzing and evaluating existing or proposed systems, producing requirements documents for various business development activities, training and supporting users, deploying new systems and enhancements.  Responsibilities of the job include ensuring data integrity, participating in data quality control, and system/process validation.  A cornerstone of this position includes working with business system users on how to efficiently utilize technology in supporting the business.  Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.  An AA degree in Management Information Systems /Accounting; equivalent work experience may be substituted. 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment using business systems ERP software. (Oracle JD Edwards is preferred). Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate technical data to employees outside of the IT department. Knowledge and application of computer programming techniques and principles of system analysis. Knowledge of programming tools, database tools, and analysis software. Financial Planning & Analyst

The Financial Planning & Analyst is an integral part of the accounting and finance team responsible for financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and special projects as assigned. This candidate will work directly with senior management including the VP of Sales, VP of Operations, and CFO on various projects and will be responsible for communicating ideas and suggestions on cost saving and profit generating strategies. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance required. Three years of general accounting experience required and five years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Previous experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and financial statement (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) preparation required. Previous experience with computerized ERP (JDE) system preferred.  Proficiency with computerized accounting system required. Excellent computer skills required. Inventory Control Clerk

Responsible for all aspects of inventory control as well as being the support for shipping issues.  Prepare accurate, timely documentation and transactions that follow established protocols for receipt, inspection, inventory control, issuance and consumption in support of manufacturing. Support all manufacturing activities as requested including transport of materials, WIP and FG product between C.J. Foods locations.  Requires: Education: High School Diploma and/or GED Required Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.. Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner. Extruder Operator

Ensure quality products are produced through the proper operation of extrusion and related equipment.  Set-up equipment and produce products using run sheets and written formulas. Direct and extrusion process and set-up skills as necessary. Assemble, calibrate, operate and monitor extruder and all auxiliary equipment. Inspect and evaluate equipment hourly; adjust equipment variables to meet equipment and product requirements. Frequently dumps/weighs, carries, and stacks up to 50 pound bags of ingredients and product. Operate forklift and hand held scanners to remove ingredients from inventory for use in production. Calculate rates and performance percentages from product runs. Responsible for all product quality attributes. Position available nights (6pm to 6am). Requires: High school diploma/GED.  Previous manufacturing experience desired.  Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Inventory Receiving Clerk

Establish and operate warehouse operation in support of food manufacturing activities. Unload and process items received into the facility in an accurate and timely manner. Package Techs

Assist with packaging line set-up and operation. Package dry and semi-moist products for shipping or specialty packaging. Maintain product and packaging quality through visually inspecting finished product.  Ensure product, bags, wraps, seals, boxes and pallets meet highest quality standards. Responsible for immediately reporting all quality issues to the Packaging Lead or Production Supervisor. Positions available days (6am–6pm) and nights (6pm-6am). Requires: High School Diploma/GED. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Willingness to work in a team environment. Packaging Operator

Direct all activities including set-up and operations on assigned packaging line. Supervise those assigned to the packaging team. Capable of performing all duties outlined for Packaging Line Technicians.  Package product in bags, boxes, or bulk containers; label, and stack on pallets. Maintain product and packaging quality through visually inspecting finished product. Ensures product, bags, wraps, seals, boxes, and pallets meet highest quality standards.  Immediately report all quality issues to the Production Supervisor. Participates in full facility and equipment clean-up between product runs, as directed.  Responsible for machine set ups. Assist with QA data collection and calibrations. Ensure required paperwork is accurate and complete. Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.  Position available days (6am – 6pm) and nights (6pm-6am).  Requires:  High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a manufacturing environment desired. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and percentages. Warehouse Tech

Ticket and store finished goods in warehouse. Track production to accurately fulfill customer orders.  Scan all materials used during shift. Safely operate forklift accurately and efficiently. Receive finished product form manufacturing lines and ticket by entering into computerized inventory system.  Responsible for inspecting finished product for stack quality, count and lot code accuracy. Operate Stretch Wrapper, Palletizer, and other warehouse equipment. Responsible for becoming familiar with product ticketing and customer requirements for palletization. Know where to get the information and how to interpret it. Able to issue raw ingredients to manufacturing and packaging. Communicate with Packaging Operators on pallet counts to ensure orders are filled correctly. Maintain assigned equipment. Participate in full facility and equipment clean up between product runs, as directed. Positions available on day shift (6am to 6pm) and night shift (6pm to 6am). Requires: High School Diploma and/or GED. Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. **All positions at C.J. Foods, Inc. require employees to work in areas where they may be exposed to temperatures ranging from 50 to 100 degrees, depending on the season and workstation. In addition to climbing up and down vertical ladders, step ladders, and stairs to package and clean, constant walking and standing may also be required for the entire shift length. All production employees must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
